The following is a brief description of the classes that are offered. Please contact us for pricing or more detailed information.
CPR Adult, Child, and Infant with or without AED training. Certification through the American Safety & Health Institute, American Red Cross, or American Heart Association. CK Education & Training is an official training center for the American Safety & Health Institute. Please contact us for renewal and challenge course information
Bloodborne Pathogens This is a 3 hour course. Students can either receive certification from American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute. Meets all OSHA requirements.
First Aid Certifications can be received either through American Red Cross, American Safety & Health Institute, or Ped Facts. The 6 hour course and 3 hour review needed for child care providers to meet their in-service requirement for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is also available.

Communicable Disease This course is offered for child care providers. Offer 6 hour course and 3 hour review. Training meets the in-service hour requirements for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. 6 Hour Course 3 Hour Review Course
Child Abuse Prevention & Recognition This course is offered for child care providers. Offer 6 hour course and 3 hour review. Training meets the in-service hour requirements for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. 6 Hour Course 3 Hour ReviewCourse
Asthma This is a 3 hour course recommended by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for child care providers. Acute Asthma Education for workplaces and schools is also available with certification through American Red Cross.
Child Development This is a 6 hour course that includes: Normal growth and development from infancy through adolescents, children’s physical development, stages of social-emotional development, temperament and personality, language development, intellectual development, play and developmental stages, and immunizations. Course follows Ohio’s Infant & Toddler Guidelines. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Nutrition/Food Allergies This 2 hour course focuses on developing a healthy diet and the current food pyramid recommendations. Follows the U.S. Department of Agriculture Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion.
Children With Special Health Care Needs This 4 hour course is covered in the Health & Safety Education Course or can be taken independently. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Infant & Toddler Guidelines This 4 hour course follows Ohio’s recommendations for Infant and Toddler Care. This Class can be taken independently or is included in the Child Development Class.
Immunizations This is a 2 hour course which provides education on immunizations from newborns through adulthood. The education provided follows guidelines developed and provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Ethics & Professionalism This is a condensed 3 hour course, which provides the learner with guidelines to follow in regards to ethics and professionalism within a work environment. For child care staff this training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Transition Management This 3 hour course provides the learner with guidelines and suggestions for the many transitions that a child may go through within a child care setting or school. The information and education provided enables the providers to better understand the issues and difficult time around the adjustments and transitions that the children go through within a childcare setting. The education provided will give the provider valuable information to make their next transition experience a pleasant one. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Health & Safety Education This course can be designed according to the needs of those being trained. Course usually in a 6 hour course, however length of course depends on the topics chosen. Some topics of education include but are not limited to the following: Playground safety, car seat safety, childproofing the child care facility, immunizations, nutrition, stress management, medication safety administration, and children with special health care needs. Bloodborne pathogens and Asthma Education could also be covered in this education session. Any of the topics can be taken as combined education session or separately. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Playground Safety This is a 2 hour course which will allow the providers to learn safe supervision practices in an outdoor play environment. Equipment safety will be reviewed and information will be given from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. A Safety Report Card example will be given to see what grade your playground receives. Incident and Injury Reporting will also be discussed with education on filling out the report form. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Medication Safety Administration/Epi-Pen Use This is a 2 hour course that will provide the learner on safe practices when administering medication to children. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Childproofing the Child Care Facility This 2 course provides the learner with information to assist them in making sure they provide a safe environment for the children in their child care setting. Effective ways to develop a safe environment will be given. Training meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in-service hours.
Emergency Medical Response for Adults in the Workplace This is a combined CPR, AED, Basic First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens course designed to give the learner the knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency care for the suddenly ill or injured adults before Emergency personnel arrive. Child and Infant CPR can also be included with this course. Certification received from either American Safety and Health Institute or American Red Cross.
Sports Safety Training This is a 6 ½ hour course offered with certification through the American Red Cross. The course helps coaches, athletic trainers, and other participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in various sports environments, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.
Administration of Emergency Oxygen This course is offered to be taken in conjunction with a CPR course. Certification is given at completion of the course education from the American Red Cross.
Injury Control Modules These are 1 hour courses offered through the American Red Cross that identify common causes of workplace injuries and health risks. The courses highlight risks and ways to promote prevention. The module topics include: Slip, Trips, & Falls, Back Injury Prevention, Ergonomics, Workplace Violence Awareness, Managing Stress, and Your Heart Matters. Any of these courses can be added to a course or taken separately.
